Ballynanty Community Project CLG is located in St Leila’s Hall, Ballynanty and is essential to the operation of Northside Family Resource Centre and St Leila’s Hall.

Ballynanty Community Project is part of the Community Employment Programme which is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed (or otherwise disadvantaged) to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities. Participants can take up other part-time work during their placement. After the placement, participants are encouraged to seek permanent jobs elsewhere, based on the experience and new skills they have gained while on a Community Employment scheme.  For more information on the Community Employment Programme click here (http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Community-Employment-Programme-.aspx).

Every participant with Ballynanty Community Project is assigned a mentor ensuring each participant is given the opportunity to develop. The key skills are as follows:

1. Office Skills which include computerised accounts, HR packages, payroll and reception skills

2. Community Support skills, engaging local people, organising events and activities and signposting

3. Catering skills and how to function in a busy kitchen under the supervision of a qualified and chef, on-site training will be provided

4. Maintenance, cleaning and caretaking skills

5. Developing good work practices such as time keeping, respect in the workplace, communication skills

6. Confidence in working as part of a busy team in a diverse environment

All skills listed are developed with the view of future employability and progression for participants.  Participants are provided with a reference where appropriate, and support is given for CV preparation and interview preparation.

The Administrator will be responsible for the secretarial and administration work of the Family Resource Centre building and St Leila’s Hall.

Caretakers

The Centre Caretaker/General Operative will be responsible for the maintenance and caretaking of the Family Resource Centre building; St Leila’s Hall; and its surrounds.

Catering Assistants

The Catering Assistants will work as part of the catering team producing meals, nutritious snacks and baked goods across the whole client base of the Centres.

Project Assistants

The Community Project Assistant will be responsible for carrying out as required the work of the Older People’s Services; Community and Family Services; and Youth Work Services; and related activities at the Family Resource Centre.
